Our Hot Air Balloon Meets - everyone welcome!
Our club meets are not restricted to club members, everyone is welcome.

There isn't a charge to attend our meets either, with or without a balloon, there may be a small charge towards overnight stays in tents/caravans and motorhomes and this will be specified on the entry form. These need to be booked in advance please.

The closing date for entries is usually the Saturday prior to the meet to allow us to finalise the details with the site. However, if you have left it too late and the deadline has passed by, don't worry, just get in touch and we will try to fit you in.

PRBA Balloon Meets
Autumn Gold Meet 15/10/2021  - 17/10/2021
Hibaldstow Airfield
Members and friends of the PRBA have been invited to a weekend of fun at Hibaldstow Aerodrome.

The training will now be flying training/tethering etc. as the uptake for ground school training has not been massive.

We will be based on the airfield (camping free of charge). There are also rooms available in the bunk house ranging from dorm style at 6 per night, to family rooms up to 40 per night. there are showers, toilets, a cafe/restaurant, and a bar all available on site, and lots of people jumping out of planes!

The rooms available to book are hot property so get in touch very quickly as they are booked up well in advance.

As well as training, get your competition hats on and compete for the Autumn Gold Trophy. The task is set by whoever won the trophy the previous year, so that goes to Covid19 to set the task!

We also have the 'Gassing' trophy in memory of Terry Chamberlain for you all to compete as a minimum distance task.

There aren't many balloon meets in this area and balloons are welcomed by the locals. So please come along and take advantage of a bargain weekend and ALSO A GOOD VENUE FOR THE LONG JUMP LAUNCH BEING ALMOST ON THE EAST COAST.

Humber Bridge Meet & Dinner 26/11/2021  - 28/11/2021
***NEW VENUE*** at Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire
PRBA's year-end meet, and being in late November our flying hours are very sociable, so do come along for good company and a spot of flying (yes, flying!).

This year we were hoping to go south of the river, but that hasn't panned out so we are on the move again, to the White Horse Inn at Gilberdyke, Brough. Not too far off the M62 and also not far from that there bridge over the large river and well placed for us to fly (yes, FLY!) north, south, east or west. So, ladies and gentlemen; light your burners and whoever can land closest to THE bridge will take home the PRBA Humber Bridge shield for the year.

Also at this meet we hold our annual Humber Bridge/Montgolfier dinner - always a good night. 2013 saw out the evening with an impromptu paper plane fight; 2014 we held the PRBA paper plane challenge; 2015 we decorated and hovered helium balloons; 2016 we went a-raiding in fancy dress, arrrhh landlubbers, we were pirates. Lots of fun and big laughs with pirate jokes and limericks and some fantastic costumes! 2017 we decided to go with the theme right under our noses - at the Old School House Restaurant - so it was school dinners - naughty school children everywhere! Exams too! 2018, we had a giant elf making fabulous balloon creations for us. 2019 was an early Christmas party and 2020 - well enough said about that year. 2021? Perhaps we should be a little reserved for our first time here. (But next year. Hmmm....).

We can bring our caravans and motorhomes to stay on site but those on site must be self sufficient in the way of toilets, showers and electricity. The White Horse Inn may have some B&B rooms ready and available too by November (watch this space). Dogs and children are very welcome too.

So, Humber Bridgies...... we bring you;
fab pub - tick,
large car park for lots of balloon trailers - tick,
launch field to fly from (YES, FLY!) - tick,
caravans etc. on site - tick,
function room - tick,
children welcome (on a lead) - tick,
dogs welcome - tick,
possible rooms available - tick,
great menu (to be posted here when available) - tick,
vegetarian and gluten free options (ditto above) - tick,
weather (we can always hope!) - tick

We welcome everyone to join us for the Humber Bridge Montgolfier dinner whether coming to the meet or not, but we must insist on payment with your dinner order, please. Cancellations will only be accepted and refunded up to the meet registration closing date of 19/11/2021
