Castles in the Air, Bellerby, Leyburn 16th -18th May |
We had a healthy contingent booked in but sadly a lot dropped out at the last minute, but for those of us remaining, we had a lovely weekend of eating and visiting gorgeous little towns and villages.
|
The weather was lovely although it dropped very cool over night, it was sunny and bright during the day, and with the sun came the breezy wind. Accordingly, that put paid to any flying.
We welcomed new friends to the PRBA and met up with old ones too.
The camp/launch field was just lovely, a two acre neatly cut field bordered by dry stone walls - which part were still under construction by a local dry stone walling society who were adding interesting features such as peep holes, a giant apple, waves and even a reading bench.
We also had an on-site cafe, Manor Farm Cafe, which is a well known and well regarded 'bikers' cafe - great food and good prices too.
Thank you to Paul Glasby of Manor Farm Cafe, and to the Scott family for hosting our meet. We have been invited back too - can't wait for 2026, but also possibly a fly out later this year! |
